At Kendra Scott, it’s always been our mission to help you do good. Through initiatives like our Kendra Gives Back community giving program, we’ve been able to help you host both online and in-store events benefiting the causes and organizations you care about most, to improve the health, wellness, education, and empowerment of women and children all over.

That’s why, in May of this year, when we were approached by Dallas fashion blogger and online personality Dani Austin looking to celebrate educators from Dallas’ Lincoln High School, we were beyond excited to lend a helping hand. In addition to a difficult year that relied on teachers to pivot their entire classroom approach and take on numerous roles, Dallas’ Lincoln High has experienced lowered rates of graduating seniors and difficulty finding the funding to support students and administration. Not only that but following a disastrous Texas freeze in February of this year, the school suffered thousands of dollars of damage due to burst pipes and consequent flooding, leaving administrators like Principal Johanna Weaver to struggle to find necessary funding as they began repair.

In celebration of National Teachers Appreciation Week, we partnered with Dani to treat Lincoln High’s heroes as a thank you for all they’ve done over the past year and a half and raise funding in order to support the school’s efforts. Beginning with an intimate breakfast provided by Dallas’ very own Bird Bakery, we were able to surprise and delight Lincoln High’s teachers with treats including a flower wall and complementary goodies from Kendra Scott. Thanks didn’t end there though, as we helped Dani host a Give Back event in which 20% of sales would go towards funding benefitting Lincoln High School that was able to raise over $10,000 (!!!) to support the school and all their hardworking educators.

Like so many frontline workers this past year, we could never give enough thanks to the heroes who do so much for thousands of students every day! Serving our communities amid an unprecedented year of change while also shaping young lives through mentorship, teachers and educators inspire us through their constant working of giving back through life-changing, and often unrecognized, work.
