Active Minds X Kendra Scott Stress Less Week
This year, we kicked off our partnership with Active Minds – the nation’s leading nonprofit promoting mental health for young adults – to change the conversation about mental health and ensure it is prioritized as highly as physical health.
In honor of Kendra Scott Stress Less Week, we’re sharing a few tips on how you can support your mental health, as well as the mental health of others, this week and beyond.
Repeat after us: Self-care is not selfish. It’s taking care of the most important relationship you have – your relationship with yourself. And the amazing thing is that after you’ve taken care of yourself, then you have the ability to take care of others. Learn more about what self-care is and how you can bring it into your daily life here.
Kendra Scott is amplifying Active Minds’ active listening tool, Validate, Appreciate, ReferⓇ, or V-A-R, an easy way to show up for a friend, helping them cope when they may be having more than a bad way. Tip: Share it with your friends as well, so they know how to be there for you too!
There’s a lot of things you can do to support your mental health that can be easily integrated into your daily routine. Try them out with us this week:
Meditation Monday
Meditation sounds hard, but we promise it’s not – and that taking time to learn how to connect with yourself in the moment is well worth it. Find some resources to get started here, here, and here.
Talk it Out Tuesday
Reach out to a trusted friend or family member. Ask how they are, and answer honestly when they ask you. (Bonus points if you use the V-A-R method!)
Wellness Wednesday
Get moving (even if it’s just a walk), eat something good for you, and make sure you get enough sleep too.
Thankful Thursday
Whether it’s keeping a gratitude journal or sending out a quick text of appreciation to a friend, take a moment to focus on the good.
Fun Friday
Do something that brings you joy! It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s something that you love that’s for you.
