“Homegating” with the Kendra Scott Gems

This semester may look different for most students, but school spirit sure hasn’t changed! Check out how four of our Kendra Scott Campus Ambassadors (aka Gems!) are celebrating game day this year through “homegating!” Below, Brittany, Chase, Jabreon, and Tori take you through how they’re cheering on their favorite teams and celebrating safely with friends in their comfort of their own homes.

“Create an eye-catching invitation at least one week prior to your homegate. Pick an away or home game where you know your entire girl gang can attend! I googled Kendra Scott Zoom backgrounds for this invitation and added text that was in that same theme! You can also post a poll in a group chat with your friends and have them vote on their favorite breakfast spread… winning choice is served at your homegate!”- Chase Buckley, University of Georgia

“‘Homegating’ is bringing the experience of the football tailgating right in our own homes, only a mile from the stadium. We made different delicious appetizers, dressed in our gameday clothes, and accessorized with our Kendra Scott jewels and goodies!  Our favorite tailgate recipe that we made was buffalo chicken dip, a classic!” - Tori Manson, University of Alabama

If you’re in the mood for some guac, check out our latest episode of Cooking with Kendra featuring Camila & Matthew McConaughey’s famous guacamole recipe! And if the buffalo chicken dip Tori mention sounds good, you'll love this recipe (a Kendra favorite).

“A very important tradition of SEC football is how women dress up for football games! Here at the University of Georgia, many girls put their best foot forward on game day, decked out head-to-toe in red and black styles! Just because we can’t attend the game, definitely doesn’t mean we are going to stop dressing up!”- Chase Buckley, University of Georgia

You can still look stylish while cheering on your team from home! Layering some simple bracelets or necklaces in your school colors is an easy way to add a little glam to your homegating look.

“We did a KS x Texas A&M Gameday Styling Competition during halftime. I split the girls into two teams. One of the girls was the ‘model’ and the other was the styler. The girls were given 8 minutes to style their models and at the end of the 8 minutes, we captured each look & posted them on Instagram to let the followers vote for their favorite look.” - Jabreon Jackson, Texas A&M University

The winning team won and received Kendra Scott jewels as the prize for pulling together the best game day look. You might not be in the stands with a t-shirt canon, but we think Kendra Scott makes an even better keepsake. 😉

“Although this semester looks extremely different, I am lucky to be living with two of my best friends who love cheering on the Longhorns just as much as I do. The amazing thing about homegating is that after an overtime win for the Longhorns, we were able to finish the day hanging out, playing card games and Just Dance. Although we miss the energy of tailgating and screaming in the stands, we are so lucky to be together and make the best of such a difficult semester.” -Brittany Colbath, University of Texas at Austin

P.S. Our newest homegating accessory, the Clear Stadium Crossbody Bag, launched today! Both our take on a fun trend and a stylish solution to the clear bag policies, the Clear Stadium Crossbody Bag in Gold will keep all your essentials stored while still in sight.
