Back to School with the Kendra Scott Gems

Get the lowdown on all things back to school from three of our Kendra Scott Campus Ambassadors, also known as Gems! Below, Mikaela, Ansley, and Taylor take you through how they’re studying, styling, and socializing during this year unlike any other.

“As of right now, my class schedule is about half online and half in-person. For my virtual classes, I will be tuning in from my desk at my sorority house and wearing comfy and cool clothes because it gets really hot in Alabama. In-person classes will be conducted following social distancing guidelines and with a mask requirement for all buildings. Masks can be a fun way to add color to an outfit, so I am definitely looking forward to sporting my Kendra Scott mask along with some gorgeous jewels.”  – Ansley Carr, The University of Alabama

“In-person events on campus will definitely look different with the requirement of masks and social distancing, but I can’t wait to see all of my sorority sisters and friends from the dance program again. When I have down time, I love to hang out on the quad in between Denny Chimes and Gorgas Library, which are in the center of campus. Right behind the library is my favorite building, Clark Hall, which is where most dance classes are held. It is lovingly known as ‘the castle’ because it is simply gorgeous.”  – Ansley Carr, The University of Alabama

Since Iowa is resuming classes through a combination of in-person and online instruction, I wanted to give y’all outfit details according to my class schedule. My schedule will consist of day and night classes with in-person instruction, Pilates outdoors, and online instruction. – Mikaela Ackerman, The University of Iowa

“I think we can all agree that things are going to look a little different for both students and faculty alike this school year. Each and every one of us are walking into uncharted territory as the semester begins, including the campus Gems that are working hard to bring the Kendra Scott brand to life. As we navigate this ‘new normal’ together, I urge you find new ways to connect with your friends and family. Take this time and make the most of it. Though we may be six feet apart, we will always be in this together!” – Taylor Mercer, Mississippi State University
