Sharing the Love: Meet the Cast of Our Valentine’s Day Campaign

Love is in the grand gestures – the proposals and the “I do’s,” the new baby and the long distance-finally-seeing-you-movie-quality-kiss. But if we’ve learned anything over the last year, as the world continues to change in unexpected ways, it’s that love is also in the tiniest moments. Love is laughing till you cry with your best friend. Love is helping your sister on moving day. Love is dinner dropped off on a doorstep. It’s this love that our customers, partners, and employees continually represent. These people serve as a reminder that love is as simple as it is complex, as subtle as it is showy. When you really start to notice, love is everywhere you look.

In celebration of love’s tiniest moments, we asked our very own KS Family and giveback partners, the faces behind our Valentine’s Day photoshoot, what love means to them, and if they could share a love note with Kendra, what would it say? We hope you enjoy learning about them (and their love stories!) as much as we did.

Love is _________ ?

Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning. Love is wonderful, love is beautiful, love is kind.

What has loved looked like in the tiniest moments?

Love is like the air. It’s everywhere – you just have to see it and show love to everyone. Sometimes all you have to do is smile. You never know if it will make someone feel good. You never know who is having a bad day and you can make it a better day by simply showing a little love to people.

Team Valentine or Palentine?

Being a romantic at heart I’d have to say Valentine but I do show the love to all my pals as well!

If you could send a love note to Kendra Scott what would it say?

Momma K, thank you for building a workplace where we feel loved, safe, cared for, and that is inclusive. You are an inspiration to us all!

Love is _________?

Everything. Love is feeling valued and making others feel just as important. Love is smiling a bunch, crying a little, and laughing a lot. Love is in everyone and I can’t help but love everything.

If you could send a love note to Kendra Scott what would it say?

Thank you. Through my experiences with Kendra Scott, I’ve not only learned to love others and always give back, but I’ve learned to begin to love myself. I find comfort in KS and confidence to be different. I feel inspired to break down barriers and show everyone that anybody can look amazing in their own style. They always say “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” and before KS, I don’t think I had my eyes open enough. Kendra Scott has changed my life forever and all I can say is thank you.

What is your love language?

My love language is 100% gift giving. The thought that goes into the gift and the memory of receiving it is what I love about it. I am very shy and not very vocal about my feelings, so giving a special yellow box, with the time and effort of picking something I know my loved ones will cherish, means everything to me.

If you could send a love note to Kendra Scott what would it say?

Thank you! All of the support that my department has shown to me through some of the toughest days while being an employee is so rare in the “corporate world”, and nearly unheard of in the workforce. The same compassion and love we show our customers is what I have received as an employee. I will be a lifer at Kendra Scott and I am forever grateful. I wear many hats at Kendra Scott in Customer Care, but I know that family will always be #1, even when I’m working! At the end of the day, I am more than an employee; I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a partner, a dog mom, and a friend. I am exactly where I need to be, and I am thankful this path has led me to working at Kendra Scott.

What has loved looked like in the tiniest moments?

In the tiniest moments, love has looked like my neighbor mowing my lawn when my husband and I lived in the hospital for six months. It’s the meals that were brought to us, the text messages of love, it’s our nurses bringing our daughters small treats just to help make a sad time a little happier. Love in its most pure form is my husband not leaving our daughter’s side when she was first diagnosed with heart failure; it’s cafeteria dates and him letting me have the last chocolate pudding. It’s friendship that shows up when you don’t even know you need it in the form of balloons on the mailbox, celebrating the small wins (like taking a shower!), or rainbow cake from the bakery. For me, these micro-moments are the ones that build the patchwork of love in my life and are representative of how we want our children to see the world.

Dan and Christine Roehling are our nonprofit partners and cofounders of The Beat Goes On Foundation. In 2016, following a dual diagnosis of pediatric cardiology conditions, their daughters Chloe and Kendall underwent life-saving heart transplants, forever changing the familyʼs future. Following the family’s health crisis, Dan & Christine began The Beat Goes On Foundation, a nonprofit organization with the mission of improving the quality of life for children diagnosed with heart disease and defects with the vision that “one transplant for life” will become a reality.

From now until Valentine’s Day, 50% of proceeds from our Heart Charm in Sterling Silver and 18k Gold Vermeil will go back to The Beat Goes On Foundation.

Like so many of the stories above, we’re consistently reminded how very lucky we are to work for a company that wears its heart on its sleeve in every facet of our work. In an effort to share our thanks, some of our KS Family members took a moment out of their day to write a love letter to Kendra and their KS Family. Read their love notes, below.
