Kendra on Breast Cancer
Happy Friday everyone – Kendra here! Today I want to discuss something that touches me and so many other women across the globe…breast cancer. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed at some point in their lives, and with an alarming statistic like that, it is so important to spread awareness about this devastating disease. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, 20% of the proceeds from our online SHOP Pink Collection this month will benefit Susan G. Komen Affiliate of Austin.

Happy Friday everyone, Kendra here! Cancer is something that touches many people’s lives. It touched my own so much that it became the spark that ignited me to start my very first business. After loosing my step dad to cancer at age 19, I started the Hat Box, a boutique inspired by all those who have to undergo chemotherapy. Each year, I donated a portion of my profits to cancer research. Today, Philanthropy is one of my company’s three core values. I continue to support cancer research in any way that I can. I was so honored to design a bra for this year’s Art Bra Austin, an amazing event benefitting the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas.

There’s Still Time to Shop for a Cure
You may remember at the beginning of the month, when we announced that we’d be donating 15% of proceeds from all pink jewelry sales to Breast Cancer Awareness. Since then, I’ve unfortunately learned that one of my dearest friends was diagnosed with the terrible disease. So to those of you who have participated, I personally can’t thank you enough. Whether you went out of your way to purchase something pink, or it was just a coincidence, each and every contribution will make a difference. With two days left in October, there’s still time to do your part… encourage your friends to ‘shop for a cure,’ and if you’re torn between turquoise & pink for that one design you’ve been eyeing, choose pink.
