New Year’s Resolutions
Happy New Year everyone, Kendra here! On a trip this summer to Bali, I learned so much and was so inspired from the joy and peacefulness of the people I met. I learned about kismet, which means that in life there are no mistakes and that everything that has happened or will happen is all part of a plan that has already been written. As I look back on my life and remember some of the difficult times from my past, I now see that if it weren’t for these experiences, I would not be the woman I am today. In a strange way, these hard times were gifts – gifts that gave me an opportunity for true happiness and an incredibly fulfilling life. As long as we are open to learning the lessons from life’s experience, the sky truly is the limit! There is an amazing life for us all, we just need to pay attention to the signs and remember that when one door closes, there is an open window just waiting for you to fly through.
Here is my personal new years resolution…this year I want to embrace the wonderful, positive and loving people in my life. I want to try not be such a worrier, especially when it comes to my children. I hope this year we can all approach our days with a smile and be kind to one another. I really do believe that small acts of kindness make this world an amazing place.
Read on to see my team’s resolutions to make 2013 the best year yet…

Get The Look: 64th Emmy Awards
As with any major awards show, our favorite part of Sunday’s 64th Primetime Emmy Awards was watching the gorgeous looks the red carpet brought out, and this year was no disappointment with gowns in sequins, bright colors and bold silhouettes illuminating the night. KS Catwalk at the 2012 Austin Fashion Awards
Happy Friday everyone – Kendra here! Each year, Austin Fashion Week concludes with the Austin Fashion Awards – a fabulous evening complete with the Golden Boot Awards ceremony and an incredible fashion show. Last year, I was so honored to take home the Golden Boot for People’s Choice “Best Jewelry Designer” and Industry’s Choice “Best Overall Designer.” This year, as a board member, it was such a privilege to watch one of my favorite fellow Austin designers, Ross Bennett, take home a Golden Boot for the “Rising Star” award. The most exciting part of the Austin Fashion Awards is the fashion show, and I had an absolute blast creating amazing, out-of-this-world pieces for the 2012 Austin Fashion Awards show. In case you weren’t there for the show, read on to see each of the fantastic looks featured on the KS catwalk, photographed by Peter Tung…

Golden Gals: Gabby Douglas and Missy Franklin
As the Summer 2012 Olympics come to a close, I wanted to take some time to recognize some of the incredible young female USA Olympians that have stolen the spotlight and captured our hearts over the past two weeks. 16-year-old Gabby Douglas and 17-year-old Missy Franklin were little known before their Olympic debut and are now American icons who serve as inspiration to us all. Not only did these two teenage women win gold, but they also broke records and made history along the way. As a female entrepreneur and business owner who started from the ground up, I have a deep appreciation and respect for these young ladies and I wanted to take some time to recognize their incredible feats…
