How did he ask, you ask? “Jordan asked me to marry him at the Golden Roast coffee shop. It was the exact coffee shop and table we sat for our first date. I thought we were going to grab a quick cup of coffee before getting half-priced sushi. Boy, was I wrong. He totally caught me off guard with the timing and scheme of it all. He even had a photographer there strategically. What’s the best part? He dropped the box while getting on one knee! After he asked me, all of my best friends and our siblings burst through the front door of the coffee shop. We then drove to my parent’s house for a MASSIVE engagement party. The love was so overflowing from everyone that night.”
With that proposal, we have to know all about the wedding day!
Husband and Wife:
Jordan and Katherine “Katie” Cormack
Where did you meet?
We met in college through mutual friends. He was roommates and best friends with a few guys I went to high school with. When I would come into town to visit my girlfriends from high school, he would be around. I had a HUGE crush on him secretly (or not so secretly, haha).
Our hometown Knoxville, TN at Dara’s Garden. Our ceremony and reception was held on site.

Describe your wedding party’s look and jewelry:
The wedding party was meant to look “timeless”. We went with looks that would be classic. Jordan and his groomsmen went with classic black tuxedos and black shoes. The boutonnieres were simple greenery that was cost efficient yet classic. My bridesmaids were told whether they were light gray, dark gray, or beaded gray. Other than that, they totally picked out the dresses on their own to match their personality.
How did you pick out their jewels?
We had a Color Bar™ party for all of the women involved in my wedding. I let everyone pick their own jewelry at the Color Bar™ party. If one girl wanted bright orange jewels that had nothing to do with the wedding, so be it. Most girls picked something neutral and practical, so they could ultimately wear it in the wedding and often after the wedding.
Why did you choose to make Kendra Scott part of your wedding day?
I love everything about Kendra Scott. Every piece of jewelry is timeless and unique. The stones are specifically chosen and intentional in placement. I also love the company because it gives back so much for charities and local organizations.
