2016 was a year to remember! Amid all the holiday excitement, we took a breath and spent just a few minutes reflecting on some of the amazing accomplishments we reached because of YOU!
In celebration of the launch of our first-ever Kendra Scott Home Collection, we are giving back to our communities in a big way. Tomorrow, with each purchase from the new collection made online or in any of our three Austin stores, we will donate 20% to the Austin Habitat for Humanity. It’s a cause Kendra has been passionate about for a number of years…Read on to hear her story behind this meaningful day of giving.
Thanksgiving, for me, is a time to cherish what I am most thankful for in this world: my family. I am so lucky to share these holidays with my loving husband and three wonderful sons – and our two pups of course! This time of year allows us to slow down and remind each other of what’s really important. I give my boys an extra squeeze and thank them for keeping me going each and every day.
And this year, I am equally thankful for what we as a company have given back. I am honored to say that as of this month, we have reached our goal of giving back $2 million in 2016. Wow! We knew when we set this goal for ourselves that it was not going to be easy. But I am so thankful for my company that is filled with hundreds of men and women who are just as passionate as I am about making a positive difference in the world.
What Matters to You, Matters to Us…and in October, we celebrated Hope. We were blown away by your support of our month-long give back which enabled us to donate $100,000 to METAvivor, $25,000 to Breast Cancer Research Fountation, and gift 15,000 pieces of Rose Quartz jewelry to women in treatment for breast cancer. Our customers make it possible for us to give back in such a meaningful way. Thank you for a wonderful month!
On January 12, 2016, Holley Rothell Kitchen passed away after a long battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Today, October 18th, is our inaugural Holley Day, a day of giving that Kendra Scott dedicates to her dear friend Holley. In her honor, we are continuing her mission to educate and raise awareness for Metastatic disease by donating $100,000 to METAvivor. Read on to hear from Kendra herself about Holley’s story, their friendship, and Kendra’s passion for giving back to this cause.
At Kendra Scott, we live by the saying “What Matters To You, Matters to Us.” This October, Hope Matters…
Selecting just one cause to support during Breast Cancer Awareness month is always nearly impossible. Our company’s community involvement is best summarized by our philanthropic mantra, “What Matters to You, Matters To Us.” Our passion for our communities drives our motivation to work with local organizations all year long. And this October, we decided to go a step further. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we will dedicate our philanthropic efforts to a single philanthropic initiative: to be a voice for Kendra’s dear friend Holley Kitchen, who passed away in January after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Come in-store or shop online this month to support this very important giveback!
Here’s what you can do to help this October:
Just two weeks ago, we took the Kendra Scott Jewelry tour back on the road. We had so much fun we have to share!
I see the world through the eyes of a jewelry designer. My love of this craft and natural gemstones inspires all that I do. I chose the name “Facets” for our blog because I wanted a place to tell the full story of my brand – every facet. This space is designed for you, to give you a personal, behind-the-scenes look at who we are.
For me, our core value of Philanthropy started with three simple words my stepfather Rob once spoke to me during his battle with brain cancer: “You Do Good.” He always taught me that the most important thing in life was to use your talents to better the lives of others. That is where my dedication to philanthropy really began, and philanthropy has now become a hallmark of the Kendra Scott culture.
