Happy Friday everyone – Kendra here! Each year, Austin Fashion Week concludes with the Austin Fashion Awards – a fabulous evening complete with the Golden Boot Awards ceremony and an incredible fashion show. Last year, I was so honored to take home the Golden Boot for People’s Choice “Best Jewelry Designer” and Industry’s Choice “Best Overall Designer.” This year, as a board member, it was such a privilege to watch one of my favorite fellow Austin designers, Ross Bennett, take home a Golden Boot for the “Rising Star” award. The most exciting part of the Austin Fashion Awards is the fashion show, and I had an absolute blast creating amazing, out-of-this-world pieces for the 2012 Austin Fashion Awards show. In case you weren’t there for the show, read on to see each of the fantastic looks featured on the KS catwalk, photographed by Peter Tung.
The runway collection we showed was based off of our Fall 2012 Collection, which launched in-stores and online yesterday. The first look incorporated some of our signature pieces, with the silhouette of our Harlow Necklace in Yellow taking center stage in a gorgeous jewelry bodice. Classic Kendra Scott medallions decorated the top of the bodice, while a larger medallion was the centerpiece for the fabulous fringed-chain belt. The model donned a KS medallion tiara and two Cassie Bracelets in Yellow to top off the eye-catching opening look.
Cleopatra meets 80′s rocker chic in this amazing headdress and statement necklace. Based off of the edgy, rocker-chic studs we incorporated in our Fall 2012 Collection, this look was a showstopper at the 2012 Austin Fashion Awards.
This beautiful look blends intricate, baroque-sculpted metal with jubilent jade green – one of fall’s hottest colors. The feminine necklace and tiara paired with the edgy leather dress created a fantastic contrast for this eye-catching, unexpected look.
Metal resembling knight’s armor made a fabulous femme-fatal statement necklace and the Jorine Necklace transformed into the perfect headdress in this look, accented by our Cassie Bracelets in Slate Cats Eye.
Jewel-toned geometric stones formed a jaw-dropping statement necklace, resembling stain-glass windows in this look. This beautiful necklace was the perfect accessory to the easy, breezy black jumpsuit our model wore, and the custom Kendra Scott tiara tied the look together flawlessly.
Our closing look was a mix of tribal-chic meets Art Deco with a stellar starburst statement necklace and headdress.
Even the backs of our models were adorned in gorgeous jewels thanks to our over-sized headdresses, bodices and necklaces at the 2012 Austin Fashion Awards. While you may not rock a necklace or headdress of this magnitude in your day-to-day attire, you can use some of these fabulous looks as inspiration when you shop for your fall and winter wardrobe!
