A Style Question Answered

Happy Friday everyone!  A couple of days ago, I came across a great question from one of my fans on my Facebook page.  She wanted to know how to wear a new statement necklace that she had received for Christmas.  While many women love our bold and colorful pieces, I realize that putting together ensembles to work with such statement pieces isn’t always an easy task.  Rather than replying to her with a Facebook comment, I thought I’d share my response with you all!

Q:  Kendra, I got the beautiful Ignacia Necklace in Goldstone for Christmas and I love it, but I’m having trouble figuring out what to wear it with.  I’d like to wear this necklace casually…what types of outfits would you suggest?  Thanks! - Ingrid Burton

A: Ingrid, the Ignacia Necklace is a beautiful statement necklace with intricate feather detailing that is perfect for both winter and spring.  One easy way to wear a statement necklace is with is a solid colored top.  For goldstone jewelry, neutrals like black, brown, white, cream and gray will work perfectly all year round, but if you want to be a little more daring go with another color such as military green (as seen in look 3) or even cobalt blue.  Since goldstone is a russet brown color, it can also be worn with prints without looking too gaudy.  Most of the Navajo and tribal printed shirts that are currently the trend have brown tones in them (such as the second shirt in look 3).  The Ignacia in Goldstone is a gorgeous compliment to this print if you really want to make a statement.  Another casual look that is easy to pair with your new necklace is a black maxi dress.  As I said before, when worn over black, the goldstone and the feather metal detailing of the necklace really pops.  A maxi dress can be worn with a sweater for cooler weather or alone as it gets warmer outside.  Finally, I love the look of a statement necklace over a chunky sweater with a simple scoop neckline….the cream colored fringed poncho in look 2 is so chic!
